CMM - Global Certification in Meeting Management

The mission of the CMM program is to select, educate, and certify management-level meeting and event professionals. We enhance the strategic decision making ability of these leaders to manage and deliver exceptional meetings and events that drive organizational success.

What is the CMM?
MPI’s CMM is an intensive learning opportunity designed for experienced and highly accomplished members of our global meeting industry community seeking career advancement and professional recognition. The 5 day program enhances the strategic decision-making ability of these leaders, enabling delivery of exceptional meetings and events that drive organizational success. The CMM designation is the most prestigious in the meetings and events industry. Continuously updated and revitalized with curriculum enhancements, upgrades have been made to the curriculum for the 2010 program.

Who is the CMM for?
Management-level meeting and event professionals with a minimum of ten years experience in the industry. Leaders who have existing expertise in all aspects of meeting management including logistics, budgets, people, legal/contracts, and marketing and communications.

When is the next CMM Program?
The next CMM Program will be held in Dallas, Texas October 2-8, 2010.  In order to be eligible for the program, candidates must first be accepted into the program.  Click here to apply online. Registration for the 2010 Program is now open.

What expenses should be budgeted for the 2010 CMM Program?

  • Application Fee - US$75 for MPI members, US$125 for non-members
  • Registration Fee - US$1,800 for MPI members, US$2,200 for non-members
  • Additional expected expenses include but are not limited to transportation including ground transportation to/from airport, minimum of 7 nights hotel, dinner for each day of the program, any other incidentals.

Meet Marie Botvinick, CMP, CMM

Marie Botvinick, CMP, CMM, graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration.  She began her meeting career in 1996 with Price Waterhouse LLP as a corporate planner.  Marie then joined Meeting Sites Resource as Senior Planner and then Director, Global Sales until 2009.
 
Active in Meeting Professionals International since 2003, Marie was named “Shining Star” in 2004 and Meeting Planner of the Year in 2005 from the Orange County Chapter.  She has served in several positions in the Orange County Chapter of Meeting Professionals International including Vice President Education, Vice President Membership, President Elect and 2007-2008 as President and then Immediate Past President.  She earned her CMP in 2004 and her CMM in 2008.

At the end of 2009, Marie started her own company, D'or Solutions, a site research, contract negotiations and full-service meeting management company.
