Community Outreach

WORKING WARDROBES and MPIOC
MPIOC first began its partnership with Working Wardrobes (WW) in 2003 and looks forward to continuing the successful affiliation.  WW empowers men, women and young adults in crises to confidently re-enter the workforce with career development and wardrobe services after triumphing over some of life's most challenging obstacles. Each year they serve over 5,000 clients from a wide spectrum of backgrounds including Welfare-to-Work, alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence, transitional homelessness, catastrophic illness and other hardships.

Over the years the chapter has been involved with other charities but Working Wardrobes (WW) seems to have resonated the strongest with members so this year WW will take center stage as MPIOC's primary community outreach organization.  The MPIOC Board of Directors will keep us up to date via email communication and at each monthly meeting on ways we can donate clothing and participate on deeper levels at the life changing WW events.  For more information on WW please visit http://www.workingwardrobes.org.

Chapter Members' opportunity to participate: Chapter members may take donations directly to the WW Donation Center (Click HERE for address, hours of operation and directions) OR members may bring their donations to each monthly meeting where a volunteer or board member will receive your donation. You may also make financial contributions via the organization’s website. 

Families Forward - July - September 2010

Chapter Members' opportunity to participate: Members may bring donations to the MPIOC Summer Social "Bowl-a-Rama" on Wednesday, August 11th or items can be brought to the Families Forward office. Click HERE for office hours and address.
